Although, I do want to point out that there's banal and monotonous, as in: mowing the lawn and taking the bus to work.
And there's banal and monotonous as in: threesomes with modelicious babes in your uber-cool Brooklyn flat and photographing other naked women.
I believe choosing between which variety of boredom, banality and monotony would be pretty obvious to most straight men.
